Protective Coatings

Specialist protective concrete coatings provide protection of both repaired and unrepaired areas of reinforced concrete. Products are available that provide weather resistance and excellent, long-lasting anti-carbonation properties.

 

Fairing / Levelling Coats
Fairing Coats can be used for many purposes including levelling new and old concrete surfaces, infilling surface imperfections, making good concrete blow holes, filling small holes, making good frost damaged and scoured concrete surfaces and levelling of patched concrete repairs.

 

Proprietary Fairing Coats typically offer:

• Good adhesion to prepared concrete
• Good carbonation resistance
• Good water vapour diffusion

 

Anti-Carbonation Coatings
Anti-Carbonation Coatings provide added resistance to the deteriorating effects of carbonation. Properly applied coatings should provide excellent anti-carbonation protection with a minimum 10 years life expectancy. These coatings can usually be applied to most building surfaces by brush, roller or spray.

 

Elastomeric coatings
These coatings, in addition to providing good anti- carbonation properties, also offer static and dynamic crack bridging capabilities.
